Aubrey Burton, Jr.Aubrey Burton, Jr. is licensed to practice law in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and California. Mr. Burton obtained his undergraduate education at Morgan State University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. degree in Sociology and a minor in Criminal Justice. Mr. Burton received his Juris Doctor degree from Tulane Law School, where he received a full tuition merit scholarship. While matriculating at Tulane Law School, Mr. Burton served as the Junior Managing Editor for Tulane Law School's edition of The National Black Law Journal, and as an attorney with the Tulane Criminal Defense Clinic. Mr. Burton handles a wide range of legal issues, ranging from Family Law/ Domestic Relations Law; Corporate/ Business Matters; Personal Injury; Estate Planning & Wealth Management; Criminal Defense; and Commercial Litigation. Upon graduating from Tulane Law School, Mr. Burton served as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Reggie B. Walton at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. Prior to serving as a judicial law clerk, Mr. Burton clerked at the law office of Senator Thomas V "Mike" Miller, Jr., and the Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office, in the economic crimes division. Mr. Burton also served as an associate attorney at the Law Offices of George E. Meng and Meng & Alpert, LLC, wherein he handled the firms' domestic and family law cases. Mr. Burton is a member of the Prince George's County Bar Association; American Bar Association; Maryland State Bar Association; District of Columbia Bar Association; State Bar of California; Philippine American Bar Association, Member, Board of Directors; and the Marlborough Inns of Court. Mr. Burton has received certificates of appreciation from the Mayor of New Orleans and the Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office, and he has been honored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Moreover, Mr. Burton has obtained the following academic accolades: Regents Scholar; Howard Hughes Fellowship; Golden Key National Honor Society; Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society; Alpha Lambda Delta Scholastic Honor Society; and induction into the National Deans List. Mr. Burton is a resident of Prince George's County, Maryland, and he prides himself on serving the community in which he lives.
